The 19-year-old Melrose shot-stopper was rewarded for a breakout season by being crowned the AWFA senior men's Star Goalkeeper last night.
Sherwill finished with 44 votes to see off last year's winner Campbell Taylor, of Albury City, and his predecessor Josh Fluss, who left Melrose to join Albury United in the off-season, by the barest of margins after they were tied on 43.

"I wasn't expecting that, but I'll take it," a delighted Sherwill said.
"It was a little bit of a different scenario this year, 'Flussy' (Josh Fluss) is a great keeper, but it was good to get one over him (laughs).
"It was my first crack at seniors and it's a really good way to wrap up my time at Melrose."
Sherwill is making the move to Melbourne next year and is hopeful of finding a new club.
"I should be able to get a run as a keeper," he laughed.
