Holy Spirit School in Lavington will present its most ambitious musical to date: Sally Sells Seashells (And You Can Too!) from Beat by Beat Press.
A total of 180 students, split into two casts, will perform eight shows from Tuesday, September 17, until Thursday, September 19.
Performing arts teacher Simon Goss said it was his most contemporary production in a primary school.
"This is the first non-comedy I have produced for a primary school," he said.
"This is also the first musical that isn't under the sea, or in a forest, or in space.
"It's set in the here-and-now, in a small beach town."
Mr Goss said an unprecedented number of boys had been willing to take on lead and singing roles.
Holy Spirit School has revamped its performing arts program this year.
MORE ENTERTAINMENT STORIES:
With a new sound and light system, principal Matt Kean has helped bring the first major school production to the hall.
"The parent community has rallied around this show," Mr Kean said.
"We have parents working together making costumes and sets.
"Other families have helped sponsor the show.
"And we have had lots of great feedback from families whose children are involved.
"Teachers in Years 3 to 6 have all worked together to help create props and set pieces through their Visual Arts lessons."
Tickets cost $5 or for children seated on the floor, a gold coin donation.
