Since purchasing the stud in 2006, they have put in a lot of hard work to grow and develop, to meet the demands of their clients wanting both Merino and Poll Merino rams.
Rodger and Kim strongly believe that putting in the effort and expense to their sheep will always be well rewarded.
In 2018, a very difficult year due to the drought taking its toll, Rodger was very happy with their decision to feed the sheep well.
This decision paid off with very good lambing percentages and surplus sheep sales - selling CFA ewes up to eight years old for $246 a head in Corowa.
Borambil started their 2019 sale and show season at the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show in July, selling four rams to a top price of $10,000. The Bendigo event was a family affair, with the help of their grandson Oliver, 7, on the show and sale floor. A further five rams were sold in August at the Hamilton Sheepvention.
The Mathews family hope to continue the positive streak at their 23rd Annual On Property Ram Sale, held on Tuesday, September 17 at 'Collendina' Corowa. Borambil Merino Stud will put up 110 rams - 46 Poll Merino Rams and 64 Merino Rams.
Inspections commence at 9.30am with the auction commencing at 1pm.
