The Red Devils lost a thrilling decider, 3-2, against Albury City in golden goal last year and have used it as motivation to return to the big dance again in 2019.
After leading 2-0 early, City staged a remarkable comeback to win its fourth cup in six years.
St Pats have been another team starved of success in recent years, having only won the senior women's cup on two occasions (2003 and 2006).
Wangaratta captain Mel Scott believes the game could end up going to a penalty shootout given how evenly-matched they've been with Patties this season.
Besides a comfortable 5-0 win for the Devils back in round two, the biggest margin in the three meetings since was one goal.
"I know St Pats didn't have (striker) Issy (Barbaro) when we won 5-0 (in round two), but they've really grown as well so anything could happen on the weekend," Scott said.
"I reckon it could go to penalties and could be a 0-0 game where it drags on.
"If it drags on into the second half and it's still 0-0, whoever gets the first goal will win it.
"I think it's pretty even.
"St Pats and us have the same goals and we've both grown so much."
ALSO IN THE SPORT:
Wangaratta believes it has the team to overpower Patties and capture its maiden cup title, but may also look to play a shutdown role on two-time Star Player Claire Mahoney.
"Last time we played St Pats (in the final round), we put Leanne (Branson) on Claire Mahoney and that really took her out of the game I think," Scott added.
"We might be doing that or we might keep Leanne in the back because she's really solid there with me.
"We'll just see on the day I guess."
It will also be a massive day for coach Adam Burchell, who take the reins from the sidelines, before running onto the pitch with the senior men against Myrtleford moments later.
"From pre-season to round one, to round 22 and into finals, coaching the women and playing for the senior men, we've had goals to be successful and get to the grand final," Burchell said.
"With the women, I definitely think we can win it.
"Even though Patties have won the league and rightfully so, they've deserved it, I feel like we might be the favourites going in.
"But we can't use that pressure going into the game either."
Burchell will certainly be hard-pressed for time with the senior women scheduled to line up for their clash at 12.50pm, before the senior men immediately follow them at 3pm.
