The now two-time AWFA Star Player feels the Savoys, who are heading into their fifth straight decider, are the favourites.
Last time the two powerhouse clubs clashed in a cup final was 2015 and Wangaratta won in dramatic fashion on penalties.
"The last time I won the top goal-scorer and league medal, we beat Myrtleford in the cup final," Burchell said.
"Hopefully history will repeat itself.
"At the end of the day, it's nice to get these individual accolades, but football is a team game.
"100 per cent I would trade any individual accolades to win the cup.
"They (Myrtleford) know how to win a cup final, but they haven't beaten us in a cup final before.
"I reckon that might be playing on their minds."
Burchell has a fierce determination to win after a year of ups and downs.
"Obviously losing my dad early in January, not knowing if I'm going to come back to Australia, not knowing if I'm going to play and not knowing if I was going to be fit to play this season," he said.
"I had people like Wally Pasquali (club president) helping me with my fitness and 'Vasa' (coach Daniel Vasilevski) helping me with my fitness and it gradually got better.
"Football is kind of my place where I let all the demons and all the bad things go away.
"It's been a really enjoyable year and I'd love to cap it off by lifting the cup this week."

Mid-season recruit Andrew Barisic heaped praise on Burchell after forming a strong bond in Wangaratta's attacking third.
"Burchy plays well week in, week out. That's why he wins the award because he's a great player and it's deserved," Barisic said.
"I've only been here since halfway through the season, but from what I've seen and playing with him, it's been enjoyable.
"I think we link up well.
"I think for him (winning Star Player), it's only going to inspire him more to do well (on Sunday)."
Barisic has particularly loved working with the younger players during the campaign and had full faith the side can go all the way.
"Everyone has been really good and the whole atmosphere around the club has been great," he added.
"We're just going to try and maintain what we've been doing week in, week out and make sure it's like every other game."
