Chelsea successfully applied for the administration position during her final year at Tallangatta Secondary College, and nearly 12 months later she feels many doors have been opened by the experience.
"I had no idea of the range of things council covers and how involved council is in the community," she said.
"I've loved the diversity of the role."
Working as part of the administration team, Chelsea has recorded and monitored customer requests, manned reception, created council documents and filled in where needed.
Accompanying a range of different council staff from various departments on their general duties was a highlight.
"I've really enjoyed being able to travel around the shire, working with people from across the organisation and different parts of the community," Chelsea said.
