A Howlong man facing serious charges over a crash outside his home that killed a motorcyclist has been committed to stand trial in the District Court.

Phillip Ross Franks, 65, appeared briefly in Albury Local Court on Tuesday for the committal by magistrate Rodney Brender.
The matter will proceed to trial on the substantive charges of dangerous driving occasioning death while under the influence and aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death, the former being an alternative charge for the latter.

Mr Brender ordered that the related charges of driving with a high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and negligent driving occasioning death be transferred to the District Court.
Franks formally pleaded not guilty to all charges on Tuesday.
The fatal crash over which he faces trial took place on July 19, 2018, about 8.30pm.
The court heard previously that Franks was pulling into the driveway when his Nissan Navara was struck by Billy Bolton's unregistered motorbike, killing the 23-year-old.
It is alleged that Franks had a blood alcohol reading of 0.160 and that Mr Bolton had a reading of 0.225, was not wearing a helmet and had not turned on his motorcycle's headlights.
But Mr Brender dismissed the application.
The matters for trial will be the subject of a District Court list call-over in Sydney on October 16, which will by way of a telephone link-up involving Frank's legal representatives.
Mr Brender extended bail for Franks.
