By 14, O'Neil got her own guitar and never put it down.
Within no time she was performing at charity dinners, church functions and weddings around her Central Coast NSW home.
Having been a latecomer to songwriting, O'Neil recorded her first song Bein' With You in January 2005, an ode to her husband, David.
Three original songs were recorded on a friend's "eight track" in time for the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
In 2008 O'Neil's debut EP Freedom comprised of five original tracks.
O'Neill will bring her Open Arms Country Tour to Wodonga on Friday, November 1.
Eliza and Zac Spalding and Vanessa Delaine will also perform at the St Ives Hotel gig.
O'Neil's first radio hit single was Welcome to the Neighbourhood while the second, Every Little Memory, pegged her as as finalist in the Victorian and National Country Music Awards 2010 - Hawking Bro's Best New Talent.
During 2013, O'Neil shifted gears on Heaven, which was produced by Simon Johnson with Glen Hannah on guitar.
O'Neil also won the Silver Saddle Talent Quest at the Sydney Country Music Festival before she opened the main stage for the 2015 festival, where she launched her debut album Rough Road.
She took out Best Independent Female Artist in Tamworth 2017.
