The 13-year-old told police she was walking on Borella Road when she was approached about 12.40pm on Tuesday.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Police were told the man grabbed the girl's hand and spoke to her, before she broke away.
The man is Caucasian, about 180 centimetres tall with a flannelette shirt, black pants, grey hair and tattoos on his hairline.
