Judging by his recent feats, Albury High School year 12 student Thomas Stefanou will walk into his desired double degree next year.

The school captain was one of 37 NSW students, and one of two locally with Corowa High's Olivia Hughes, to receive a Minister's Award for Excellence in Student Achievement.
"It was determined in the fields of sporting, academics and community involvement," Thomas said.
"I represented the Riverina in water polo and I try to help out a fair bit around the school community.
"The awards ceremony happened at Sydney Town Hall and it was amazing to speak to the recipients."
Thomas hopes to study commerce and law at the University of Wollongong.
"I believe the way society is going at the moment, people's rights are violated quite easily because they may not know their commercial rights - that's an area I wish to pursue," he said.

And Thomas shares in recent success with his principal Darryl Ward, who was recognised by The Australian Council of Educational Leaders.
"I was lucky enough to be nominated for an individual leadership award," Mr Ward said.
"We're proud of Thomas - he would be the second or third student who has received an award through the Public Education Foundation in my time."
Other recipients in the Minister's Awards were Anni Gifford (Excellence in Teaching) and Christine Clancy (Excellent Service) from James Fallon, and of Finley High Jodie Brown (Excellent Service) and David Marsden (Parent of the Year).
Albury North Public received the ACEL Team Leadership Award.
