The 35th annual Rutherglen Rotary Muscat Run on Sunday, October 6, will generate funds for Australian Rotary Health's fundraising and awareness campaign, Lift The Lid On Mental Illness.
Rotary Club of Rutherglen spokesman Peter Walker said the course had been re-routed this year.
"It covers roads and tracks with picturesque views of the local countryside, vineyards and the Murray River," he said.
"The runs pass through the Willows Reserve and Wahgunyah River Trails.
"The classic 10km fun run has been substantially re-organised to include roads and tracks through some of the iconic scenery to be found in the Rutherglen area.
"For people wanting a shorter distance, we have designed a 5km run or walk."
The Rutherglen Rotary Muscat Run coincides with Australian Rotary Health's national fundraising and awareness campaign for mental health research.
About one in five Australians will experience a mental illness in their lifetime.
The Muscat Run events will start and finish at Cofield Wines at Wahgunyah.
Participants and support crews can enjoy food and wine, music and children's entertainment as part of Cofield Wines Family Fun Day.
Bookings are advised for Pickled Sisters Cafe.
"This will be a fun day for the whole family with prizes including bottles of local Rutherglen Muscat to be won and don't forget there will also be special prizes for the best fancy dress," Mr Walker said.
Participants can register for the event on the day from 8.30am or skip the queues and register online.
It starts from 10am.
