A Wangaratta district man has been arrested by police investigating an alleged child approach incident in Melbourne earlier this month.

Victoria Police said the man, 41, was arrested by Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives on Tuesday, interviewed and released pending further inquiries, with the investigation ongoing.
Police received a report two 10-year-old boys were approached by an unknown man in a Holden utility on Foster Road, Malvern East, about 3.35pm on September 5.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Investigators were told the man pulled up and spoke to one of the boys before driving away.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Detectives travelled to Wangaratta on Tuesday as part of the investigation.
