Craig is coming off a career-best season at club level with the Bulldogs and signalled his intentions to play for Riverina.
Ball is excited to have the batting all-rounder at his disposal.
"He's a guy over the last couple of years who has made runs consistently," Ball said.
"He's up to that level no doubt. We're going away to win, but we're also going away to try to get these blokes into the NSW Country team.
"You want to pick blokes who you think can make that team and Jack is definitely one of those guys."

Wodonga paceman Cameron Suidgeest starred at last year's NSW Country Championship at Berry against some of regional Australia's best.
Suidgeest nabbed 11 wickets at an average of 12 in Riverina's three games to earn higher honours.
"Him and Ryan Brown starred, obviously Suidgeest got selected and 'Browny' didn't, but they were the two best bowlers in the comp," Ball said.
"Ryan took a five-for against Newcastle and he's gone really well there the last couple of years, so we're hoping he's going to play again.
"They've had a few issues with the selectors last year and I think they've changed what they're doing."
Ball is hoping to organise a trial match between Albury and Wagga soon.
