VIBE will be a free event for youth aged 12-25, designed by headspace Albury-Wodonga's youth reference group.
Member Josh Rickard said young people had been asking for something like this, with a previous event called Wellfest driven by students being successful.
"They've been looking for a youth festival with a mental health focus, to bring both cities together," he said.
"It's a daunting thing for young people to go out of their way and join these types of groups, so let's bring the groups to the young people."
Headspace Albury-Wodonga community development worker Bree Cross said the festival was a step up from previous headspace day activities.
"We've only ever done smaller events before - last year we were at the roller skating rink," she said.
"This is the first big wellness festival we've done, which is why it was really vital to connect to other parts of the community to bring it together.
"The group thought about different activities that are going to make young people interested in coming along.
"We'll have outdoor lounge-rooms set up, food vans, music and a local live action battle game group.
"It's almost a find-your-tribe type feeling."
Self-care kits will be handed out and tree transport will be available.
Yes Unlimited are involved and Aligned Leisure have come on board through Albury-Wodonga Healthy project head Sarah Blatchford.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I reached out to Bree and asked what they were doing, as I wanted to get involved in the mental health space, and she told me about the festival," she said.
"We'll be providing yoga, and the Richmond Institute of Sport Leadership will have an interactive stall."
Ms Cross said there would be something for everyone.
"Youth don't want a mental health event where they're sitting and listening, they want to come and learn self care skills," she said.
VIBE will take place from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, October 11, at QEII Square.
