This year's Blue Tie Ball has moved to the Holy Spirit Hall, Mutsch Street, Lavington, to provide enough room for every dancer.
Organised by the Albury-Wodonga Prostate Cancer Support Group, the formal function on October 19 runs from 6.30pm to midnight, with live music by Tarragal.
A Sunday dance the next day will also be held at the same venue between 1.30pm and 5pm.
Support group co-convener Glenn Rose said feedback from previous balls indicated the dance floor had been a little crowded, hence the change of location.
"There's a real old-time dance community around here, folks could dance every night of the week if they wanted to, they're that passionate about it," he said.
"People travel to come, there are followers of the band who will come."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Money raised through the ball will go into a scholarship fund to support the professional development of Border nurses to increase their knowledge and understanding of prostate cancer.
"People who donate money always express the desire to have the money spent locally," Mr Rose said.
He felt there was more awareness of prostate cancer, as shown by the reaction to the group's stall at Henty Machinery Field Days.
"More often now, we get the message, 'Yes, I've already had my blood tests', 'I know about that', 'I've been to do that', whereas seven or eight years ago, you wouldn't get that response," he said.
"A lot of them would look at our stand at Henty and walk the other way, it would be the wives that come over and take the literature.
"But then it's still important to let people know that it's in their interest to first of all get a GP and take care of their health and then secondly, after a certain age, they should consider getting tested for prostate cancer, particularly men with a family history.
"One of our missions is to try and get the message out to younger men as well."
