The versatile tall has won Narrandera's highest individual honour the previous three seasons before returning to his home club this year to make it an awesome foursome.
Astonishingly, he achieved the feat despite the Eagles enduring a winless season.
Lane relished a switch in roles to claim his first best and fairest at the John Foord Oval.
The athletic big man played less in the ruck this season and was coach Marc Almond's Mr Fix It for the Roos.
"I was thrown around a bit more this season and played on a wing, half-forward and in the ruck which I enjoyed," Lane said.
"It beats the constant crash and bash of rucking all the time, that's for sure.
"Depending on the opposition, Almo (Almond) pretty much played me wherever he thought I could help out most with the team balance."
Despite not being able to train as regularly as previous seasons because of work commitments, Lane was still a consistent performer for the Roos.

"I thought I had a fairly consistent season which was a focus," he said.
"I didn't get to train as often as I would have liked through work commitments.
"There is plenty of blokes in the competition who do work away.
"But it was a different challenge for me because I've never really done it before."
The Roos won two matches this season to finish second last.
But they had excuses after being one of the hardest hit by injury.
Lane said the Roos proved to be a lot more competitive this season with Almond committing to coaching again next year.
"We are still building and probably didn't get quite the number of wins that we would have liked," he said.
"In saying that, we were a lot more competitive and we able to reduce our beaten margins.
"Numbers wise at the club obviously got a lot better as well.
"I enjoyed playing and it is always good to challenge yourself at the highest standard possible.
"I'm looking forward to playing a bit of cricket over the summer and have recommitted for next season."
Tyson Logie finished runner-up to Lane with James O'Connell awarded most consistent.
As expected Sophie Hanrahan was triumphant in the A-grade netball.
Hanrahan became just the second Ovens and Murray netballer to win back-to-back Toni Wilson Medals.
Hanrahan beat North Albury recruit Grace Senior who was instrumental in the Roos making the grand final.
