The incident left the early model Ford Falcon on the Wodonga Tennis Centre hard courts at the corner of Melrose Drive and Dalgleish Street.
A Victoria Police media spokeswoman said the allegedly stolen vehicle was located about 4am.
"The driver was gone on police arrival and is yet to be located at this stage," she said.
"Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

Wodonga Council said the external fencing was damaged, with some tyre marks on the court surface.
"The clean-up and repairs have begun and will be completed in the next few days," the council said.
The car, which had no number plates, was towed from the scene before 9am.
A nearby resident, who did not wish to be named, said they were woken by a loud noise about 4.30am.
The resident believed the car had been driven around for a couple of hours before the crash.
"They wrote the car off into the fence, crashed into the gutter," the resident said.
"They took a photo, they laughed about it, boasted about it, put it on Facebook.
"No one was hurt that I know of."
The blue court is one of 10 plexicushion courts at Wodonga Tennis Centre, installed in a million dollar upgrade about five years ago. The surface is the same as used at the Australian Open.
