Wodonga mayor Anna Speedie urged senior residents to look through the program of activities which runs from Monday to Sunday.
"It's fantastic to have Colleen Hewett kick off this year's Senior Celebrations," she said.
"There are a lot of older residents who count down to this festival each year and it's our pleasure to host this event."
Cr Speedie said there was 101 activities for seniors to get involved in, including the always popular car rally and treasure hunt from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
