Barry and Rosey
Barry, 54, and wife Rosey, 49, live on a dairy farm in Deniliquin where Barry's family have farmed for more than 150 years.
The couple have two children Annabella, 2, and Lincoln, 5.
The show explores the impact the drought, zero-water allocation and the fixed price of milk is having on their business and lives.
Rodney
Rodney, 45, has lived in The Rock, between Albury and Wagga.
The show hears that he has struggled to find permanent housing most of his adult life and battles mental health and alcohol issue.
Rodney is currently living in a caravan park but wants to give up alcohol and find somewhere more stable to live.
Bob
For 40 years, Robert, 72, has lived in a tent of makeshift lean-on and cycled from rural town to rural town for work.
The show meets him while he is living in a caravan park in Wagga having injured himself falling off his bike.
Mason and Katherine
Mason and Katherine like in Tolland, Wagga, a suburb with high unemployment, growing crime and a bad reputation, which is seen firsthand when the pair's house is broken into and ransacked.
Katherine is a stay-at-home mum to daughter Suzianna, 2, and Mason is looking for work.
The couple has taken in two pregnant teenagers and also helps Mason's partially blind best mate, Ethan.
Frank and Tina
Frank and Tina live in another high-crime area of Wagga, Ashmont, and are frustrated by what they see as a lack of action by authorities to put a stop to a spate of arson attacks and burglaries in the area.
Kahlia
Pregnant Kahlia, 19, lives with Katherine and Mason.
Having lived through a troubled childhood and ice addiction, Kahlia wants to start afresh.
Wayne
Wayne has started up a Wagga Neighbourhood Watch group and regularly pays visits to residents who've been affected by crime, including one woman whose car was fire-bombed.
Peta and Ricky
Nagus' Peta and Ricky have two children Cody and Bree, both five.
Cody has a chronic kidney condition called Dent's disease.
The show explores the lack of specialist care in their town and the financial impact frequent trips to Sydney and Melbourne have on the family.
