Bowls Gr8 for Brains aims to help former police officers and emergency service workers to move forward in a healthy and supportive environment.
The start-up session at the Lavington Bowling Club will allow those interested to come and try bowls, enjoy some yoga on the green or simply catch up with like-minded people.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Retired police officers Darryl Coventry and Beth Docksey are working together on the program and Mr Coventry has seen first hand the results after he began bowls after his third failed suicide attempt.
"Hopefully it can change people's lives, it can give what I've got out of it," Mr Coventry said.
The session runs from 10am until 12.30pm.
