Splinter by Hilary Bell begins with a couple reunited with their missing daughter and what follows is the "splinter of doubt" enters the relationship.
Reuniting to work on this new production, Hilary and her sister Lucy bring their relationship as sisters to the interpretation of the mother character and is bringing the play to the Hume Bank Butter Factory Theatre Wodonga next week.
Lucy said starring in the production is "truly terrifying".
"I don't read horror and I don't watch horror films," she said.
"But I do love being deeply shaken and being asked to look at my fears, and this play does that for me."
Splinter is directed by Lee Lewis and stars Lucy Bell and Simon Gleeson.
