Falls Creek's Nathan Fenton said significant natural snowfall set the scene for a great season on the slopes.
"2019 has been an amazing season, the third straight with over a metre and a half of natural snowfall," he said.
"At Falls Creek we've seen more visitors through the gates than nearly ever before.
"In one of the most successful seasons on record, over 175,000 visitors came along to experience Victoria's largest resort and its world class skiing, snowboarding, cross country and snowplay."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board chief executive Jon Hutchins said crowds continued to flock to the mountain, but fewer incidents occurred on the roads throughout the 2019 season.
"We saw an increase in total visitation yet again including more first-time snow goers choosing to come to Hotham," he said.
"While there are more people coming to Hotham we continue to see less incidents on the road with Resort Management, VicRoads, Victoria Police and Hoys all working collaboratively to ensure safe passage for guests up and down the mountain."
Mr Hutchins said plenty of international athletes, including a large contingent of Chinese skiers and snowboarders visited Hotham this season to train for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
The resorts said there were plenty of activities including hiking and mountain bike riding to be enjoyed in the green season.
The 2019 season was the first since American company Vail Resorts purchased both Mount Hotham Alpine Resort and Falls Creek alpine Resort.
In February the international company, which already owned 18 resorts including Perisher in NSW, purchased the two North East resorts for an estimated $174 million.
As part of the purchase, the company announced they would create an Epic Australia pass which would grant holders access to Mount Hotham, Falls Creek, Perisher and international resorts. In September, Vail announced Local Passes would not longer be sold, to be replaced with Epic passes.
The moved caused angst among alpine residents. The Epic pass for 2020, which offers unrestricted season access to the mountains, was initially offered at $829 for adults, $639 for over-65s and $469 for students, but its "price will rise periodically between now and next winter" Vail said.
Currently it is being sold for $849 for adults and $479 for students, with the price set to rise on Sunday.
