About 15 Wodonga primary schools have signed up to this year's program, which started on Monday.
Deputy mayor Kat Bennett said Walk to School was an important initiative for young people.

"Schools have found that the kids who walk to school are more focused during their school day," she said.
"Getting children to walk, ride or scoot to school is an easy way to get them active and healthy."
