Carpe Diem starring John Walker and Chris Pidd is set in a fictional town and portrays the friendship of a hard working farmer and his stock agent friend - both have been impacted by long running drought and personal crisis.
Playwright Megan Rigoni said the play was first inspired by the experiences of people she knew.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Living in a country town I was aware of how sadness and grief impact on people's lives; the long term effects and the need for support," she said.
"Life is difficult. I think human connection and professional care are vital to people's sense of well-being."
Mr Pidd said the play depicts "so beautifully" how two mates can help each other in times of need.
The play is also a fundraiser for the Survivors of Suicide and Friends community group.
It is being held at the Albury Entertainment Centre on October 24.
