Norman's playing future remains unclear after Glenrowan went into recess for 12 months with the enforcer unlikely to rush into a decision.
He has been playing for the Ovens and King league club since 2014 after leaving Wangaratta Rovers.
Norman, 36, has family ties at W.J. Findlay Oval with football operations manager Barry Sullivan saying the door was always open.
"If he wanted to have another run around in the Ovens and Murray if his body is up to it, then we would be more than happy to accommodate it," Sullivan said.
"He obviously a good, experienced footballer.
"It would be interesting to see how he would go with a good pre-season under his belt.
"We would definitely like him to come down and have a run around."
Norman played 121 matches for Wangaratta Rovers and won the Hawks' best and fairest in 2012.
