Albury-based trainer Mitch Beer has called out a homophobic comment made by a male horse owner in a tweet which has received "overwhelming" support.

In a tweet Beer said he was abused by an owner because he found out he "employees queer people".
Beer told The Border Mail homophobic comments would "not be tolerated" in his business.
"I was quite overwhelmed by the response to my tweet," he said of the nearly 1000 likes and 100 comments.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We are a young stable and I am a young trainer and I'm not going to tolerate that sort of comments in any way, especially in the industry we love.
"99 per cent of people are utterly fantastic but there is just that one per cent which aren't and we have to call them out."
Beer said he had a "great team" of people from "all backgrounds and all walks of life".
The tweet said stewards had been notified.
