The Light the Night event raised $5000 to support the cause, which organiser Charmaine Aldridge said was a pleasing result.
"It's fantastic," she said.
"It was a bit chilly but we had 50 or 60 people brave the night.
"Being in a regional area, a lot of people have to travel to Melbourne.

"This event was a chance to show people they aren't alone, there are a lot of people going through a similar journey.
"It was a chance to bring everyone together and support each other."
Those in attendance held lanterns showing their link to the illness.
About 4200 Australians are diagnosed each year.
"It was emotional, because there were people who have lost loved ones," Ms Aldridge said.
"We had a $5000 fundraising goal and we're still getting money in, but we've reached that goal."
