Melbourne Rebels will play the ACT-based Brumbies in two matches at Albury's Greenfield Park.
"AlburyCity is very keen on nurturing this relationship," events team leader Ros Walls said.
"Given our location in the middle of Melbourne and Canberra, we see the link as fantastic for the future, not just for elite sport, but also the grassroots pathway programs and we feel we're in a position to host them regularly."
Apart from the elite Super Rugby, the clubs also have seven pathway programs, including four junior competitions, ranging from under 19s to 15s.
AlburyCity is targeting the redeveloped Lavington Sportsground, which is expected to be completed by August 2020, to host a variety of sports.
It's one of few regional centres to host the country's major codes, including NRL and Big Bash cricket.
