Bill Puckett will coach Cobram for a third season in 2020.
The experienced Englishman will be assisted by veteran Nathan Thomas as he looks to take the Roar back to the top of the league.
"I'm looking forward to linking up with him (Thomas) and his experience. It should be a good partnership," Puckett said.
"I'll be leading the boys on the training field and match days, but hopefully I'll be able to have a bit more of a playing role than a playing-coaching role.

Puckett said there's a buzz around the club with most of the senior squad already recommitting and new facilities set to be ready before the start of the of the season.
"The lads that struggled all year with injuries like Aaron Feldtmann and Justin Smith are keen to get themselves right and ready to go because they know what a big year it's going to be," Puckett added.
"Everyone is excited and optimistic."
