Great Australian Beer Festival, QEII Square, Dean Street, Albury, Saturday, October 19, 1pm to 8pm
More than 150 beers and ciders from brewers around the country will be showcased in this one-day celebration of the amber fluid. Pop-up bars and gourmet food offerings aim to make this a treat for the taste buds. The music line-up includes Ruby Fields, The Potbelleez, Elk, Chris Miller and Spyndrift, as well as cabaret acts and roving performers. Be aware the festival will be a cashless event, with all purchases to be made with a debit, credit or eftpos card.

Track Sounds
Caulfield Cup Day at Racing Wodonga, Wodonga Racecourse, Hamilton Smith Drive, Saturday, October 19, gates open 11am
Wodonga and District Turf Club's traditional Caulfield Cup meeting features a six race card but plenty of other entertainment as well. Sneaky Sound System will perform on the members lawn after the last race. A Kids Zone and a mechanical bucking bull will also catch the attention of racegoers. Border Ovarian Cancer Awareness Group's pony hop charity race will be a highlight while there is also a free bus service to and from the course.

Family Affair

Now in its sixth year, Whorouly Village Fair aims to be a good old-fashioned family fair with a focus on regional produce and market stalls. AFL star Eddie Betts will appear from 10.30am to meet with fans and sell and sign copies of his children's books. Other attractions include a kiwi and spoon race, a mini marathon training session, line dancing, ukelele players and a vintage aircraft flyover.

SIGNIFICANT DAY: This weekend will celebrate 85 years since the people of Albury helped the Dutch airliner Uiver make an emergency landing at the racecourse.

The Netherlands ambassador Marion Derckx, will officially open the exhibition Albury and Australia's Dutch Connection, which particularly focuses on the 1934 emergency landing of the Uiver. An anniversary dinner will also be held on Saturday night.

The Myrtleford Riding Develops Abilities fundraiser features five gardens today and four tomorrow, as well as a sausage sizzle today in the Coles car park. Entry is $5 a garden or $20 all gardens, with more details on the RDA Myrtleford Facebook page.
