Charlie Star appeared before the County Court on Wednesday following an incident at a birthday party in Kergunyah on September 2, 2017.
Jurors were undecided on a third rape charge.
The now 22-year-old's friend, Mitchell Bowran, was found not guilty of four rape charges with jurors undecided on a fifth.
MORE NEWS FROM COURT:
The pair had argued the sex was consensual.
Star's barrister Charles Morgan said the verdicts were unreasonable and inconsistent given the evidence.
The court heard an appeal would be lodged, and Mr Morgan asked the jail sentence be put on hold while the appeal is heard.
He argued the "verdict is exceptional in its nature".
Judge Meryl Sexton said defendants would usually be taken into custody after a verdict or plea given the charge involved a mandatory prison term, but extended Star's bail to November 8 while she considered the stay application.
