About 6pm emergency services received reports of the incident.
A NSW police spokeswoman confirmed to The Border Mail a report would be prepared for the coroner "following the death of a woman after a single-vehicle crash near Albury".
"A car left the road, stuck a tree and rolled," she said.
"The female driver died at the scene, but an 18-year-old man and a 12-year-old girl escaped major injury.
"They were taken to Albury Base Hospital.
"Inquiries are continuing."
Multiple Murray River Police District and RFS units attended, as well as Corowa SES and the Albury VRA.
A road block was initially established adjacent to Nation Road, with the scene being nine kilometres north of Jindera.
Traffic was then diverted down the Walla-Walla-Jindera Road while emergency services and crime scene detectives worked at the scene.
SES worked to cut the occupants out of the Toyota Kluger with NSW plates.
The SUV was removed at 9.30pm and Urana Road was re-opened soon after.
Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact NSW Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
