The Rotary Club of North Albury is helping to raise money for Meg's Children Nepal and Hilltop Cancer Carer Accommodation with its Mully Dinner Dance.
Meg's Children Nepal founder Trish Ryan said the money raised would help support the 33 children - ranging in ages from 6 to 22 - currently in the care of the not-for-profit organisation.
"Any dollar that is raised goes to the education of the children, which we think is vital if we are to help Nepal get out of its poverty cycle," she said.
The trust was named in honour of Mrs Ryan's eldest daughter Meg, a teacher's aide who was studying for a degree in education before she passed away in 2003, as a result of complications from Spina Bifida.
After the loss of Meg, she made the decision to travel to Nepal to volunteer before she established the charity in 2005 to enhance the lives of children who do not have family to cater to their basic needs.
The dinner dance ticket of $70 will include nibbles, two-course meal, tea and coffee, and a live band.
There will also be a charity auction on the night with a huge range of items up for grabs including a load of gravel and hamper from the Essential Ingredient.
