The former Corowa-Rutherglen netballer and committee member led Power's under-10's side this season as co-coach and will also steer the club's B-grade side next year.
Thomas has played at both Ovens and Murray and state league levels over the years, with injuries cutting her time out on court shorter than she would have liked.
The appointment marks Thomas' first senior coaching role.
The newly announced leader said she was looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"Being my first coaching gig it's a little bit daunting," Thomas said.
"I'm a little bit nervous, but excited for the opportunity that they've given me."

"It sounds cliche, but just the vibe that I got from the club was great during my past two seasons being out there," Thomas said.
"For my first coaching gig, yes it's a challenge, but there's an awesome support network that will be around me.
"I knew if I was to dabble in senior coaching anywhere, that just felt like the place to do it."
