The Crows posted 207 from their 50 overs, but received 10 runs after Tallangatta failed to complete its 50 overs in the allotted three hours and 10 minutes.
It meant the visitors required 218 for victory, but they finished short on 9-212 chasing just their second win after the opening six rounds of the two formats.
East's Luke Brunckhorst posted 71, with Englishman Matt Oswell was superb in the chase with 89.
Cameron White took 5-45.
Elsewhere, Wodonga defeated Albury by five wickets and St Patrick's belted Belvoir.
