Ledger hopes his galloper Spirit Off gets a start in race one.

"She showed a lot of ability as a young horse," Ledger said.

"If she gets into the field, she'll be very hard to beat."

Ledger also fancies his chances in the last race of the day with starter Mystical Rose.

"She ran a very good second in a stronger race at Bendigo last start," Ledger said.

"Although coming back in distance, she's a pretty smart galloper for this type of meeting, so she'll be very competitive as well."

Ledger's other runners include Kuro Bella, Make You Famous, Haunted Stream and Hard Got.

"Wangaratta on Cup day is always a fabulous day," he said.

"Although I've been doing it for many years, I still enjoy the hype that goes with it."
