The convent was first opened in 1928, with ten nuns in residence and provided primary, secondary and musical education until 1989.
More recently the property has hosted ghost tours, weddings and offered accommodation. The property last sold in February 2018 after being on the market for two years.

In April, owners submitted an application to Indigo Shire to use the land for a 'restaurant, shop, art and craft centre, distillery and indoor recreation facility'.
Indigo Shire said the application was still in the system.
The property was listed for sale on October 11 and features a chapel, 11 bedrooms and two free standing brick buildings. It still contains a boarding room style bathroom with 22 basins.
