Matthew Travers, defence lawyer Mark Cronin said, was "mortified" by his actions that night.
"He accepts unequivocally that his behaviour was unacceptable," Mr Cronin said
IN OTHER NEWS:
Magistrate Rodney Brender said what Travers inflicted on the victim was "clearly a serious offence" though he conceded it was to an extent an "aberration" caused by his intoxication.
"This requires denunciation. It's completely unacceptable for men to grope women in this way."
Albury Local Court was told this week that while Travers, 33, and his wife stayed at the pub after the incident, the victim left soon after with her partner.
"He readily concedes he just consumed far too much alcohol," Mr Cronin said.
Travers, of Lavington, pleaded guilty to a single charge of sexually touch another person without consent, for which he was convicted and fined $1500.
The victim, then 20, went out dancing with friends on April 5.
At 11pm they moved on to Albury's Zed Bar, then about 12.30pm moved to an outdoors smoking area to talk to a group of men.
An hour later, while still in the beer garden, the victim stood up to go to the toilet.
"The accused walked towards her with both arms outstretched and with both hands, grabbed the victim's breasts," police said.
"The victim pushed (Travers) backwards with both hands and said: 'What the f ... ?'"
Travers apologised and the victim continued walking to the hotel's toilets.
Prosecutor Sergeant Andrew Coombs said Travers' offending was "at or below the mid-range".
