The Hoppers never looked threatened in the re-match of last season's T20 and 50-over grand finals, posting 8-211 before ripping through the home team for only 125.
It's the club's fourth successive win over the Panthers since losing the first grand final in the three-match series last summer.
"We got sent in on a tacky wicket, we would have bowled first as well," North captain Ash Borella said.
"I just put it on the blokes to value your wickets and make a total that we can defend and full credit to Brendan Simmons with 70-odd and Cal Langlands with 50-odd, they batted superbly."
The pair combined for 91 runs for the fourth wicket.
Simmons finished with 70 from 88 balls, with 11 boundaries, while Langlands struck six fours in his 59.
Nathan Brown claimed 3-44 from nine overs, while coach Daryl Tuffey made a comeback after retiring following the grand final loss.
The Panthers were missing paceman Ryan Brown with Riverina commitments, while captain Sam Harris also didn't play with Tuffey's experience vital in claiming 1-13 off eight miserly overs.
Lavington opener Matt Heagney and Brad Dalbosco posted a 44-run stand for the fourth wicket to push the Panthers to 3-91, before a fine piece of fielding halted the momentum.
"George McCormick has probably got the softest (weakest) arm in the comp I reckon and Matt Heagney played a late cut to short third man on the ring and George charged in, picked it up and threw the stumps down at the bowler's end to run him out," Borella said.
It snapped any momentum with the Panthers losing their last seven wickets for only 34 runs to collapse after just 37.1 overs.
In his 50-over provincial debut, off-spinner Mani Singh snared 3-13.
"Obviously with Greg Daniel away (with Riverina), we said to him, 'look, here's your opportunity, just put it in the right areas, you know you can do it' and he just bowled superbly, as did all the bowlers," Borella said.
After bowling his only over for the season against Wodonga Raiders the previous week, Brandon Purtell charged in to snare 2-24.
It was the Panthers' first loss in the longer version of the game, while North pushed its record to two-one.
The Hoppers are home to Belvoir in round four, while Lavington travels to Wodonga Raiders.
