Dawson's Haulage, whose head office is in Baranduda, can deal with a wide variety of freight and transport requirements and is looking to expand operations in the future.

For the past 29 years Dawson's Haulage has been expanding and is continuing to grow.

When the company started they had just one one prime mover. Today, the business is a specialised operation with more than 70 prime movers and 115 haulage trailers and depots in Toowoomba and Rockhampton.

The company was established by Graeme Dawson in 1990. He has literally a lifetime of experience (some 40 years) in the industry after joining it at just 16 years old.

"I've never done anything different, and I've never wanted to," he said.

Today, Dawson's boasts a large modern fleet with prime movers, extendable trailers (up to 22 metres length), Bdouble sets, tautliner trailers, flat top trailers, drop deck trailers, container trailers and all terrain forklifts.

Dawson's Haulage has recently outgrown their Muller Street premises and are currently in the process of expanding into a 10-acre property directly across from the current location.

Larger storage facilities at this and the Towoomba depot will mean an addition of up to 15 staff in the near future.

"We can deal with a huge variety of freight requirements and we have one of the largest privately-owned fleets of extendable trailers in Australia," Graeme said.

"We can move anything from a carton, to a pallet, to full loads and we specialise in over dimensional items as well. We have drop deck extendable trailers with ramps to carry machinery up to 25 tonne.

"We've done a lot of machinery relocation, both locally and Australia wide, and we've usually got 10 drop decks available at any time."

All of Dawson's prime movers are fitted with IVMS tracking that tracks your freight wherever it is in Australia.

"We update our equipment regularly which means we have the safest most efficient equipment to meet business requirements," Graeme said.

Dawson's Haulage are trained and kept up-to-date with legislative changes, industry standards and best practice in all aspects of road transport including workplace safety, mass management and over dimensional requirements.

"Our predominantly flat top fleet delivers various products all over Australia from a varied customer base, including businesses like Geofabrics, Rocla Poles, Wilsons Transformers from Wodonga, Iplex Pipelines and PGH Bricks," Graeme said.

"The road trains can be used anywhere bar Victoria.

"The road trains consist of two trailers which allow our customers to get a delivery completed in a more cost and time efficient manner."

Dawson's can also transport 20-foot and 40-foot shipping containers and have them for sale to the general public.
