The feel-good entertainers will perform at the Albury Entertainment Centre Theatrette on Sunday.
The five-piece band specialises in boogaloo; a fusion of rhythm and blues, soul, mambo, rumba and jazz.
It also dabbles in cumbia, which has its roots in Colombia and is one of the most widespread musical genres to emerge out of Latin America.
Sally Ford's soaring, bel canto voice leads the band, which comprises Patrick Cronin on trumpet, flugelhorn and percussion, Michael Havir on keyboard, David Joseph on drums and Catherine McQuade on bass and vocals.
Dr Hernandez plays an exotic tonic of rootsy electro-cumbia, soulful boogaloo and funky reggae.
Bringing a new twist to these traditions, the band combines electronic beats and Hammond-infused grooves with a three-piece horn section, percussion and Ford's soaring Spanish vocals.

The manager of Just Shows To Go, which is delivering the Dr Hernandez tour, said audiences would be treated to a guaranteed feel-good vibe at the concert.
"We won't just be wowed by their musicianship but also their composition talents as they will be performing tracks from their brand new CD," she said.
The CD features seven original tunes plus a tribute to the Queen of Afro-Colombian cumbia, Toto La Momposina, in a reworking of her classic rumba, El Pescador (The Fisherman).
Dr Hernandez will perform for one night in Albury from 5pm.
This is music for dancing, listening or just lounging.
It's guaranteed to be good for whatever ails you.
The Dr Hernandez concert is the final in the 2019 Cafe Culture series at the Albury Entertainment Centre.
