Wodonga Library team leader Michelle Fracaro said they had a morning of farewell celebrations.
"It was such amazing turn out, we had more than 100 for the story time session this morning with children's librarian Heather McNamara, who is a bit of a superstar, read a book for the last time at the Hovell Street library," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"She has been reading to kids in the community for more than 10 years.
"It has been a really quite an emotional morning."
The library will close at 6pm on tonight and will reopen at 10am on Wednesday, November 20 in High Street.
"We have had lots of community support and we are excited about the move."
Ms Fracaro said borrowing has been extended to six weeks to help with the move.
