Owner David Becker said the business had moved further down Dean Street to shop 2/483 as a way to downsize and harness foot traffic. Mr Becker said the move was a response to the changing retail climate facing newsagencies.
"The shop got too big," he said. "The way retailing is going now, it's getting very tight and hard.
"Magazine and paper sales, everything is shrinking, card sales have shrunk and we thought we have to reinvent, so we've condensed stock and got rid of slow moving stuff."

Mr Becker, who owns the business with his wife Andree, said the business had been running and adapting to changing retail climates for many years.
The pair bought the business more than 25 years ago.
Before it was Beckers Newsagency the business operated as Blake's Busy Book Bazaar for more than a century, having been established in the 1890s.
