Coinciding with the Farmer's Market on the Lincoln Causeway, an exhibit of 50 stallholders showcasing renewable energy, sustainable lifetstyles, farming, environment, and health will run from 8am to 1pm.

Munir Vahanvati will take people through the basics of bamboo building, and how to make your own sushi-making kit to take home.

Then throughout next week, informative sessions around how to become more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly will take place across community centres and schools, and on Tuesday a sustainable fashion night and screening of The True Cost will take place.

The festival concludes with the grand opening of Victoria's first 10-star house designed to meet the Victorian Residential Efficiency Scoreboard, at Elmwood Living in Wodonga.

Small Steps Big Impact is the theme of the festival, which is being co-ordinated for the first time by Kate Nottingham and is now in its sixth year.

"There will be sustainable energy companies and plenty of sustainable products," she said.

The Festival is a Two Cities, One Community initiative.
