Police are investigating whether a medical episode caused a 31-year-old Albury man to lose control of his utility vehicle and plunge into a Lavington home on Saturday.
Prior to the crash the vehicle collided with two cars parked along Griffith Road, a telephone pole and narrowly missed a pedestrian.
Albury Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Nick Fahy said it was extremely lucky no one was seriously injured by the out-of-control car.
"The vehicle prior to colliding with the house had collided with two cars earlier along Griffith Road," he said.
"It crossed onto the wrong side of the road, glanced off a telephone pole and narrowly missed a pedestrian.
"It then travelled straight over a roundabout at the intersection of Griffith and Kemp Road and into the house."
Acting Sergeant Fahy said the house was examined and found to be unsafe. By Sunday, the side of the house had been boarded up.
No one in the house was injured and the male driver had a superficial wound to his hand.

Emergency services are clearing up after a white utility ploughed into a Lavington house on Saturday afternoon.
Acting Sergeant Nick Fahy, of Albury highway patrol, said the driver lost control travelling north on Kemp Street about 12.15pm and collided with the front of the home.
The officer said no one in the house was injured while the male driver had a superficial wound to his hand.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics took the driver, the sole occupant, to hospital with minor injuries and also treated a woman for shock at the scene.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Acting Sergeant Fahy said police would look into claims the vehicle had damaged other cars in Griffith Road before the crash.
"Police at this stage, it's only early days, may be investigating whether the driver's had a medical episode," he said.
"We'll speak to the driver later.
"The house will be made safe and then we'll extricate the vehicle at some stage."
Janine Caton saw a ladder fall off the utility before the crash as she walked her dog along Griffith Road.
"All I saw was a ladder sliding across the road and I felt 'is that coming towards me'," she said.
"It was quite a violent type of thing, he lost control of the car as this was happening and he sped off."
