The Eagles had never beaten perennial powerhouse North Albury at its home since joining provincial in 2007-08.
"I think it was a really defining win for our group," delighted captain Nat Sariman said.
"It was really special with the group that we've got, I was extremely proud of our effort."
After claiming its maiden title in 2015-16, Belvoir has won only one final with a number of profile players, like ex-Riverina quick Matt Jaensch, moving on.
But Sariman says the youthful outfit gained belief from the performance.
"Absolutely, we know internally what we're capable of, so it proved to ourselves we can go as far as we want this year," he said.
"We've taken bigger names and more experience to Bunton Park, I thought it said a lot about our group with so many young kids, I was filled with so much pride.
"Everybody would have written us off, it was great."
The visitors posted 199, with North cruising at 1-81.
"In times gone by we would have rolled over, it speaks for the resilience and mental toughness of the people coming in," Sariman said.
"The game was turned through our bowlers, who were willing to get hit to take the wickets, so it was that real risk v reward stuff."
Spinner Lachie McMillan claimed 3-36 as North was dismissed for 183.
Earlier, Sariman led the charge with a classy 67 from 99 balls.
Riverina rep Drew Cameron scored 44, while McMillan contributed 35.
Speedsters Jake Burge and Haydyn Roberts snared three wickets apiece.
When opener Tom Hemsley and Brendan Simmons were firing, the home team looked likely to claim the win, as expected.
But once McMillan claimed Hemsley for 39, wickets started to fall consistently.
However at 6-161, North still looked in control, but when another Riverina player in Ryan Addison fell for 14 to youngster Casey George, the favourites lost momentum.
"Our fielding and catching was really good," Sariman said.
"Angus Sinclair took a really good catch on the boundary, the ball went really high and was swirling in the breeze, I think it did turn the game."
Belvoir and North sit in a logjam of teams with a two-two record.
