Lee Mark Petersen, Albury Local Court has heard, had been continually harassing the woman.
"Hehehe," he said in the text, "should have stayed away from (us) right from the start.
"I hate you so very, very much that this is going to be super fun."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Petersen has pleaded guilty before magistrate Rodney Brender to a charge of stalking or intimidation, though he reserved his plea on a second identical charge.
He told the court, via a video link to a South Australian jail, that he had not been served with any information about the second stalking or intimidation matter.
Mr Brender asked Petersen, 37, how long he would be in custody in that state.
"I'm not sure," he replied.
"I haven't been sentenced yet."
The court was told that Petersen and the victim met through her partner, who had been Petersen's boss at work.
Petersen and the victim were experiencing some "ongoing issues" in the lead-up to his offending just over a year ago.
The victim, police said, received a text message from Petersen on September 9, 2018, about 7.20am.
Police said the victim knew the text was from Petersen as she had put his contact details into her phone when she established, from
previous messages, that the number belonged to him.
"The first message on this day was an image of a news article titled 'girl with melted face after acid attack'."
The case against Petersen was adjourned to November 25 for mention to allow time for him to receive details of the second charge.
