Widdison is set to nominate Albury Gold Cup winner Willi Willi alongside stablemates Ruby Skye and Wyangle for the $100,000 feature.
He is yet to win his hometown cup after relocating to Wodonga almost three years ago.

Ruby Skye also contested the 1600m feature last year and finished midfield after starting as a $26-chance.
Widdison is set to have more than a dozen runners at the meeting.
"Hopefully Willi Willi, Ruby Skye and Wyangle will all gain a start in the cup," Widdison said.
"I could have up to 14 runners at the meeting."
Willi Willi is set to contest the cup second-up from a spell.
The six-year-old finished at the tail of the field in group 3 company when resuming at Flemington earlier this month.
Ruby Skye nearly caused a huge boilover when runner-up as a $151 pop when resuming from a 26-week spell at Bendigo last month.
The six-year-old mare will appreciate the drop in class after finishing midfield in the $500,000 MCCC Country Final at Flemington on Oaks day.
