Sunshine Walk, *Noreuil Park, Albury, Sunday, November 24, 7.30am to 3pm
The Sunshine Walk will bring people together to raise money and awareness for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund Inc. The 20-kilometre walk will take in Albury-Wodonga's most popular attractions, with a 5 kilometre option too. The walk is not competitive. It is a great chance to celebrate the survivors, carers and supporters of people with cancer and remember those we have lost. The McDonald's Family Fun Day will follow the walk in Noreuil Park. There will be jumping castles, face painting and a chill zone for tired walkers. *Note change of venue.
GUIDING LIGHT
New documentary Solstice captures the stories of those who are on the frontline in the battle for better mental health care; survivors of suicide. Hosted by Border Trust, John Walker will be joined by Patrick McGorry AO and film maker Helen Newman for an audience Q and A after the film. All proceeds from the event will go to Border Trust.
POWER BLUES
Melbourne blues rockers The Ugly Kings are returning to the Border. No stranger to Albury-Wodonga, these talented kings have played multiple local shows, including a packed gig at St Ives Hotel in early last year. The Ugly Kings are on the road in support of their new EP Gypsy Queen. The four rockers draw influence from an eclectic and dynamic musical background. They offer a powerful injection of energy and emotion to the modern rock scene, formulating what can only be described as power blues.
