Cafe Grove served its final coffee on Sunday afternoon closing after more than 20 years on High Street.
Posting for the final time on the cafe's Facebook page, owners thanked customers for their support over time with many cafe-goers commenting on the post asking why.
Owners Matt and Bianca Murphy, who only took over the business last year, didn't respond to messages by The Border Mail yesterday.
Their website is also shut down with a simple message of thanks on the home screen.

"It comes with great sadness, Cafe Grove is now closed down," the website reads.
"Cafe Grove closed its doors Sunday, November 17 2019 at 4pm.
"Thank you to everyone who supported us over the time, we will miss you all."
The cafe haven't said what forced the closure but only announced the decision via social media two days earlier.
The cafe are also selling all their equipment through social media with everything from cafe furniture, display fridges, crockery, utensils and TVs up for grabs.
